The silhouette of the castle looms over the village.
First mentioned in 935, Brousse was only a small fort standing watch on the Tarn river. Restored as of 1963, the castle is open to the public. Its inner yard is used for shows in the season. You can find a local history museum as well as temporary exhibitions. Brousse ‘s main resources were chestnut and wine growing.
